Oh well

So I got this email today:

Blogger has been notified, according to the terms of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), that certain content in your blog infringes upon the copyrights of others. The URL(s) of the allegedly infringing post(s) may be found at the end of this message.

etc etc etc

I'm not sure I'm going to even bother keeping up the blog. I had started it originally with the intent of keeping in touch with a few people who didn't do LiveJournal, and it grew slightly from there.

But everyone I care about is either here, on Interference, or on Facebook, so there's no need for a blog.

These are private (well, private enough for these things) pages, I will continue to post songs here occasionally.

Oddly enough, they only referenced one particular post, but nothing about any of the other posts that share music as well. They deleted it. Whatever.

I've seen music blogs all over posting notice that they don't know if they're going to bother to continue, now that they're all getting these happy emails.

Which is a shame - many, many blogs are about loving music, and getting other people excited about music. Many people discover new artists thanks to blogs, and then go and buy that music.

Maybe someday the recording industry will get their shit together and realize what a beautiful thing they have in the internet, and people sharing their love of music there.

Until then, I just continue to sigh, shrug and say "Your loss, RIAA."

So I'm just going to delete all previous posts, and leave this one up for a while before deleting the whole thing altogether.

See you guys on Facebook/Interference/LiveJournal!

I'll miss you.

Oh, wait. There's Facebook.

And email.

We'll be okay.

Stop your lies...
